Sydney Wilson

December 7, 1934 — December 24, 2024

It’s with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Sydney Ann Wilson, 90, who passed away peacefully on 12/24/2024 with her children by her side.

Sydney was born December 7, 1934, and raised in Bremerton, WA. She was a figure skater, and her claim to fame was skating in a show with the legendary Dick Button. She was of Norwegian heritage and enjoyed including Norwegian culture in her life.

She and her mother, Anne Richardson, moved to CA, where Sydney attended the University of California at Berkeley. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, CK “Bill” Wilson. Together they raised three children and enjoyed playing golf and bridge with their numerous friends. She was also an avid gardener, and Girl Scout leader. Sydney was an involved and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved going to the OR coast, whale watching and eating any and all seafood!

Sydney was a genuine caretaker. She worked for years in the medical field as a medical assistant. She also worked at Lane Community College in the Student Health Center and as the secretary in the School of Respiratory Therapy. She was very involved in P.E.O. ~Where women motivate, educate and celebrate women.

Sydney was a valued member of Bethesda Lutheran Church. Her faith was very important to her and supported her through difficult times.

Sydney is survived by her three children, Loree Holmes, Caroline Carpenter and Robert (Katherine) Wilson.

In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren Sara Holmes, Dylan Holmes, Julian (Kristin Corissa) Holmes, and Abigail Wilson, as well as five great grandchildren.

Sydney was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and two younger brothers, as well as her beloved husband Bill Wilson and son-in-law Dr. E. Powell Carpenter.
