Sharon Hessman, born July 21, 1952, in Estill County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon grew up in Irvine, Kentucky. She was a lifelong caregiver, nurturing and supporting those around her with boundless compassion.
At the age of 21, Sharon met the love of her life, Franklin Hessman. They shared a beautiful marriage that spanned 51 years. They built a life filled with love, moving between Richmond, Kentucky, and Dodge City, Kansas, before eventually settling in Oregon to be close to their beloved grandchildren.
Sharon spent many years working at Trinity Manor in Dodge City, Kansas. She later retired from South Hills Rehab Center in Eugene, Oregon.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. Sharon adored her two granddaughters, Makenzy and Delanie Stiffler, and cherished watching them grow into young women.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Franklin Hessman; her daughter, Mona, (Mathew) her two stepsons, Daniel and Gerald Hessman (Kay) She is also survived by her three brothers: Ray (Kay), Mort (Ruth), and Greg (Belinda).
Waiting to welcome her at the gates of heaven are her parents, Dessie and Carlis Plowman.
Sharon's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for her family will forever be remembered by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
