It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Vernon Lloyd, age 74, on October 14th, as a result of a motorcycle accident. Paul was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, known for his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Those who saw Paul before the accident remarked on the bright and warm light he emitted, a testament to the joy he brought to others. He rode into the night, leaving behind cherished memories and the love of all who knew him.
Paul is survived by his devoted spouse, DeJaniero Lloyd; his sons, Christopher Lloyd and Shawn Lloyd (spouse Leah Lloyd and granddaughter Avery Lloyd); and his daughter, Nikita Custer (spouse Casey Fernan). He is also cherished by his sisters, Linda Lloyd McGowan and Maureen Emerson, along with many nieces, nephews, and first cousins.
With a free spirit at heart, Paul found joy in riding motorcycles, traveling, fishing, and meditating. He was known for his love of cooking and always shared a warm morning greeting with his friends and family, brightening their days with his kindness and humor. Paul also enjoyed Cuban cigars, a passion that brought him moments of relaxation and enjoyment.
Paul's deep and close friendships spanned the country; no one was a stranger to him. He had friends in every state he visited, and he cherished those connections, often bringing people together through his enthusiasm for life.
A private family memorial will be held to spread his ashes at Yosemite National Park within the year, a place he cherished for camping with his family and the stunning natural beauty that inspired him.
Paul’s warmth, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. In honoring his spirit, we invite family and friends to share stories and celebrate his life.
