Michael Lane Koepp
Born: December 20, 1938
Died: November 7, 2024
Mike was the second child of five born to Robert and Doris Koepp. Mike was born in Southgate, California and initially went to Carmenita School. In 1954 the family of four boys packed up leaving Norwalk, California moving to Eugene, Oregon. Mike attended Willamette High School, becoming a star athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. Mike loved his years at Willamette.
After high school Mike obtained a job with Echo Spring Dairy and then with Dutch Girl Ice Cream, and at the same time he married Bonnie Sirotek. They had one child, Kim. Mike and Bonnie divorced, and he eventually married Elva Harrison on December 3, 1976. They were happily married until his death.
Mike worked for a short time for McCracken Brothers Trucking, eventually obtaining work with the University of Oregon in 1997 within their library system. After 13 years of service with the University, he retired in 2010. Mike was probably most noted for being the first “Super Duck” costumed supporter for his beloved Oregon Ducks- which he wore to many home games for many years.
Mike is survived by his wife Elva; daughter Kim; grandchildren Jessica and Gilliam; great granddaughter Olivia; and brothers Peter and Brian Koepp.
