Marla Dixon

April 28, 1948 — October 23, 2024

Marla Jo Dixon (Smith) passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024 in Eugene, Oregon at the age of 76 with family by her side.

Marla is survived by her daughter Leslie Kiser of Vancouver, Washington, son Brian Dixon and his wife Deanna of Cold Springs, Nevada, grandchildren Jaylen and Kyle and great grandchildren Jay and Jace. She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence of Lowell, Oregon and grandson Tyler Chambers of Vancouver, Washington.

Marla was born on April 28, 1948, in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Ardith and Sylvester "Speed" Smith. She attended school in Fall Creek, Oregon. She married Lawrence Burton Dixon in Reno, Nevada on May 28, 1966. They purchased property and Lawrence built their home in Fall Creek, Oregon where they lived and raised their family. In the mid-80's they relocated to Barstow, California where they stayed until 1990 when they moved back home to Lowell, Oregon where they lived for the rest of their lives together.

Marla loved to cook and share her love and gift of food and cooking anytime she had an opportunity. She enjoyed getting out and socialize when she had an opportunity. She joined a bowling league in the late 70's and enjoyed making friends. Her family was her greatest joy and loved the holidays and family gatherings. She spent most of her working years taking care of Lawrence, their kids and home. Later, she did take on a couple jobs outside the home. For several years she pressed clothes for a local department store in Springfield, Oregon and when she lived in California, she took a job as a cook.

She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend with a fun-loving personality.

There will be a joint Celebration of Life for Marla & Lawrence on November 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Fall Creek Christian Church, located at 39025 Jasper-Lowell Road, Fall Creek, Oregon, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marla & Lawrence's lives.
