Cheri Rae Budd

1947-2024

Cheri Rae Meek Budd was born on June 22, 1947 in Boise, Idaho to Howard and Mildred Meek. She passed on June 1, 2024 in Springfield, Oregon with her husband and family by her side.

The family moved from Boise to Pocatello, Idaho, where Cheri grew up with an older sister, Phyllis, and a younger brother, Scott. Cheri graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello, Idaho.

Cheri met Dan Budd, from Blackfoot, Idaho, during high school. They married in Pocatello on March 27, 1965. They had three children, Yvette, Dan, and Darby. They lived in Washougal, Washington; Salem, Oregon; Kelso-Longview, Washington; Coos Bay-North Bend, Oregon and then settled in Eugene, Oregon. They moved to Springfield, Oregon during retirement.

Cheri was a stay-at-home Mom until all three children were in school. She worked part-time for the Bethel School District, as a waitress at Something Special Restaurant, and as a secretary for Burton Saw, where she retired.She enjoyed hosting family to celebrate holidays and birthdays, making everyone their favorite birthday cake. She loved doing craft projects, shopping, cooking and going to lunch with friends and family. She always was glad to hear what her grandchildren were doing. In retirement she enjoyed painting, sharing her work with her family.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Dan Budd. Her daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and Dennis Jernberg; granddaughters, Alexandria Jernberg and Annie Jernberg. Her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Jodi Budd; granddaughter, Joslyn (Jordan) Scarbrough; great-grandchildren, James and Jesse Scarbrough; granddaughter, Taylor Budd-McNatt and Zach McNatt. Her son, Darbey Budd and grandson, Jacob Budd. Her brother, Scott Meek (Julie)Her sister, Phyllis Hendricksen (Jim)
