Beth Adele (Baker) Cleghorn, 69, of Creswell, Oregon passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at Riverbend Hospital, Springfield, Oregon. Beth was born on April 1, 1955, in Wichita, KS to Firmin O. “Butch” Baker and Jeanette E. Baker. She attended Wichita East High School, and then Wichita Business College after which she began her IT career. She worked at Lawyer’s Title, St. Francis Hospital and LearJet, all in Wichita.
On June 27, 1981, Beth married Craig A. Cleghorn in Wichita. Her son Matthew Curtis Cleghorn was born May 6, 1985, and son Michael Allen Cleghorn was born May 18, 1988. In 1993, the family relocated to the Seattle, WA area. In 1998, they relocated to McKinney, TX for eight years, then returned to the northwest to Eugene, Oregon in 2006.
After moving to the Northwest, she was blessed with the opportunity to stay at home with her sons during this time. She was creatively driven, expressing this in gardening, cooking, landscaping, home decorating and remodeling. She created a warm and welcoming environment for her family, her many friends and the neighborhood. She was an active listener, for many a calming presence, knowing the right words and always taking care of others. She would not let you leave her house hungry and without a hug. In 2017, Beth was able to accomplish one of her life dreams of owning a rural piece of property where she felt at home, similar to her parents' farm in Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her son Matthew Curtis Cleghorn, her brother Curtis Alan Baker, and her mother and father.
Survived by husband Craig and son Michael of Creswell, OR; one sister, Janalie Epp (Dan) of Tribune, KS; ; brother-in-law Bryan Cleghorn (Cathy) of Maryland; sister-in-law Lori Cleghorn of Florida; mother-in-law Patricia Boden (Ken) of St. Mary’s, GA; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews ; their dog Rudy, and the many, many friends and family in Wichita, Seattle, McKinney, and Eugene.
